Why Read Write Think?

What Makes Us Different

From our fully-customized brick & mortar residency to our timely, self-paced online courses, Read. Write. Think. with Renee is driven by four signatures

  1. Our team.

A lot of people do this work solo - that’s not our thing. We have a team and network that is passionate and in the field studying alongside teachers and students.

  2. Our experience.

We know what works because we’ve seen it work in a lot of different types of schools, including some of the largest districts from New York City to Los Angeles. Our extensive and varied experience with this work gives us a broad view of school systems and allows us to look for trends.

  3. Our program-neutral approach.

Trying to teach to a program complicates education and takes away the teacher's voice and autonomy. We are advocates for increased teacher autonomy. Part of our foundational core beliefs is the power of simplifying teaching through a research-backed educator’s toolkit to be used and adapted to the needs of any classroom. After all, you should drive the curriculum, not the other way around!

  4. Our hype game.

We believe in teachers as decision makers - and want them to believe it, too. It’s our mission to excite and empower teachers to be confident in their decisions about what to teach, how to teach it,  and why they’re teaching it.

If there’s a child in your life, you’re an educator. And that means you’re responsible for the most important work in the world – the well-being and education of the next generation

We believe that it is both an honor and responsibility to equip each child with a strong, healthy sense of self and empower each to read, write, and think for themselves.

That must start with us.

To do that work, we must remember the joy and power of learning, we must move, shift, and evolve as everything that’s come before us; we must be willing, eager, and interested in what innovation can make possible; we must leverage relationships for long-term success; we must take an active stance in our own education.

We must also remember that every child is a learner; every child has strengths and talents; every child can.

That starts with us believing that of ourselves, first.
